Hotel Contractor Jobs

Question in Savannah, GA?
Looking for information on a possible move to Savannah, GA Miami, FL. The family includes myself (27 years) my wife (29 years) and our two boys (10 years of age and 2) and oh yeah our shitzu Lulu. My work can be transferred to his wife, there are 10 hotels of the company in the Savannah area. As for me, I just completed a clearance of Homeland Security and work for any opening at the federal level. I'm also looking in the city, county, and private contractors for the job. Here are our questions. 1) What is familiar Savannah area? 2) Looking to rent a first time buying, which is a nice area? 3) schools for my kids? I guess the question goes back to the area? 4) How much money we have or do not have to start to life in GA? (Note) As a young couple, looking for a new life, not only for ourselves but for our children ….. thanks
Basically, everything from Broughton Street north is quite safe. South of Broughton, avoid at all costs, Montgomery, Jefferson, Henry and Anderson Street. Do not take West Bay Street Bridge 17 U.S. or that is wrong in some areas. I've heard from friends that you should stay off the streets named after states like Pennsylvania Ave, etc nearly anywhere in the east of Broad Street and south of President Santa is bad, at least until you get close to victory. Martin Luther King begins well into the far north (on River Street, but worsens as you go south, and eventually becomes what is probably the worst part of Savannah. There are also some questionable areas on the street behind the mall area Savannah … I heard that can be violent over there … shots, etc., do not let this discourage you from exploring these areas or anything … I would not suggest living there. Stay away from Garden City (basically a continuation of the bad side, north of Savannah). I went there for high school and the city is distasteful and heard its not very secure. Police used to test us / our lockers / our vehicles for drugs, weapons, etc. every couple of months … called Closure … where were locked us in our classrooms for 2-3 hours. Honestly … Choose a suburb of Savannah … as Richmond Hill and Pooler (if you want to be close). Being children, warned, Pooler now high school age are currently attending Groves High School in Garden City, but I think they are planning to build a city high school sometime in the near future due to significant growth. If you are willing to be a little more than one unit of the city itself … take a look at Rincon, Guyton, Springfield, etc. They are much smaller and are more country or feel safe for them to Savannah. Richmond Hill and Pooler are good areas to purchase or rent and have good schools. It is only 20 minutes from Savannah, in each of those areas, and so its very manageable. I'm not sure how much money you have to start a life in Georgia. Adequate for rent or house payment, bills, food, etc. You'll want to make sure you can provide for your family before thinking moving. Good luck!
