We are finishing our basement. Should we hire a general contractor? is it worth the money?

What is the benefit of having one? We have a strict budget for the basement and I was wondering if I would be throwing my money away by using a GC or would they be really helpful and worth the cost. What do most people do?

of course it is worth the money.just stay on budget .your basement will come out beatyful.make sure you invest some time finding the right contractor.
