Responsibuilty Structure and condominium associations?

Our condo board just informed that our new attorney has decided that the covers of wooden patio outside our buildings are individual responsibility of owners to obtain redress. OOHHH and that will send about a contractor for let us know that our decks to be repaired! Everything in the building's exterior is suppossed to the Association …. who are told we can not put an awning over our covered … well my deck is so small it barely fit a desk around terrace. Who here thinks this is crazy? I can not afford a house, but still think they can afford to pay a contractor to come replace the broken piece of trash cover that comes with the place? My second part of the question …. if the cover is not responsibility, and I hire someone to build me a new … If someone gets hurt on my terrace, does that mean that it is my responsibility too !!!??

I suggest you ask the attorney to determine how he came to the conclusion that the decks are not considered common property. I think it took her to this conclusion **.
