Building Works Contractors Act

building works contractors act
Can anyone give me a good legal definition of what would be considered “Bad Faith Conduct” by a public officer

I started a renovation on a house without a permit and was shut down by the building inspector. I was given a stop work notice with the violations written on it and told that I had to submitt the proper papers before work could continue. I submitted the required paperwork, which took weeks because the local building inspector would not answer my questions and always needed”one more thing”, and was then told that I had to go in front of the zoning board. I was charged a double permit fee, which is allowed by town ordinance but ONLY when the permit has been approved, and hindered in my attempts to make this situation right. Due to the hinderence of the public officer whose job it is to assist in getting permits, I have missed the deadline for the next zoning board meeting and have to wait until the middle of May. I have paid out countless amounts of money to contractors to keep them around and I believe that this public officer acted in bad faith when it came to fulfilling his duties.

The national BOCA code requires that you be given a response within15 days, if no response you get automatic approval. you should see how that plays into what you are doing

I thought I was the only person that hated the inspectors. I have only run into one that actually knew what he was talking about, and was fair and decent, and that is in over 15 years of dealing with their crap. That is West Whiteland Township, PA..good guys
