Landscaping?!?

Hi, i was wondering what do i accuire to become a landscaping contractor/certified and also if anyone knows a great school to be a landscaping designer in san jose ca. My dad does landscaping but is not certified and since he is a minority and can speak much english, I will try to obtain it. So as much feed back will be greatful.

the university of cal system has an excellent horticulture program which you will need to be certified as to become a licensed designer in cal. i tried to Dom the same in San Diego when i lived there. you can get a business licence to be a lawn maintenance company but if you want to get the big jobs a horticulture degree is the way to go
