Where contractors take all the remaining provisions shall not be used for the house they are building?

I remember growing up my mom had led me to a place where you pick up paint and other supplies for your home. They had some parts for the toilet for 5 gallon buckets of paint for doors entry of the brand new equipment and could not use because they had a dent or two. I was wondering if anyone has been in a place like this and what was his name. Thanks

Most construction contractors back to your garden or material supplier if there are leftovers. Many cities have a Habitat for Humanity restoration, however. People donate building materials to them, and you can pick up things very cheap there. See site below for a location near you. Hope this helps.
