Contractor Claiming Expenses

As an independent contractor how do I fill out my income taxes for the CRA in the T2124 form?
I worked as an independent contractor in 2007 in three different scenarios for a company helping move hospital, mystery shopping where I was paid for a service and as a telemarketer. I was told when I called CRA to fill out T2124, that looks to me like the actual owner of the business would claim that. How do I do my claims as an independent contractor then? Do I fill out that form and if so, how? All I know is the services I provided, how much I made and the companies names/addresses. I have no other information. CRA said they put in no slip for me, but I am still responsible to claim it because the business would have claimed it under business expenses or employee wages ( can’t remember which). People must do this all the time, please help me, I can’t find anything information on the internet!!!
If you were a contractor then you must have billed the company for these services. Once you have done that you do indeed file out a business income schedule, and include the net income amount on your tax return. For CRA purposes you are a business. Be careful you also do not go over the small business limit for GST purposes , or you will be assesed GST owing to the government.
I just hope that you are truly an independent contractor as defined by CRA. There are a lot of employers lately who have been entering into these types of arrangements with there employees, telling them it’s better because they get to deduct more of there expenses. What they forget to tell you is you lose any EI benefits if you are laid off, When you file you Tax Return the amount of $$ you need to contribute to CPP/QPP is double the rest of us, as you need to make both your contribution and the employer contribution. All so, if CRA deems you an employee all of your deductions will be disallowed and you get a BIG tax bill from it all.
The reason employers are doing this is to eliminate there contributions to EI, CPP/QPP CSST (Workmans Comp), Vavcation Pay etc etc
