Labor and Employment Law Question (Texas)?

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is lawful for a company to hire temporary contract workers to do the same job as a regular full time worker and paying the contractors less (in Texas)??? Also, if someone has information on where I could find something about this on the web that would be very helpful. Thanks so much
What about if since its in Texas, a right to work state, and the union has an agreeement with the company under a memorandum of understanding to allow temporary workers to do the same job as the permenant employee with the understanding that the temp will eventually get hired as a permenant employee if he makes it through his probabtion period?

yes it is completely legal. Temporary workers are hired in at a certain wage based on the contract the company signs with them. They are paid less hourly but cost the company more in hidden fees. For example if a temp employee is paid 13 per hour they are probably paying 16-18 per hour for the employee based on what they were quoted when they signed the contract. Works the same in any state. Only place to know the policy is with the temp agency and they are probably not gonna tell you. Hope this helps!
