Contractors Concrete
I hired a concrete contractor for a driveway, he got a permit but failed to call in inspection before pour.?
City is threatning to breakout and redo, what can I do to prevent?
You should allow the driveway to be replaced at the contractor’s expense. The only reason for him to not get the inspection is because he knew he would not pass, so you have a crap driveway.
Call your state’s body that licenses contractors and speak to someone there about other complaints against your contractor and his reputation for this. If your contractor knows that you know your rights, he’ll fix the driveway, as he should.
Don’t tell the contractor you are going to “sue his ass.” That’s just juvenile and counterproductive. Tell him that you expect him to live up to his obligations, just as you did when you paid him. And if he does not fix it, file a complaint against his license. It is a LOT cheaper than a lawsuit and it will work much better. People here seem to think suing is the answer to everything–wrong!!
Good luck.
