Starting a Minority Corporation?

I want to start a corporation and I am a Minority, the trade I am going in is Electrical Construction, my question is my friend has the elctrical construction C-10 license and is leaving the country to pursue another business opportunity and wants to leave me his license, his lawyer told him in order for this to happen I would have to start a corporation and then bring him in as a DBA (doing business as) what is the cost for this? and is this hard to do? I heard by starting a minority corporation in the construction field it opens up doors for you on projects that exceed minority contractors is this true?

The easiest thing to do… is purchase his company for 1$.. with the understanding his license comes with it. Your lawyer can draw up the papers.

Follow your lawyers advice, and dont try to do this on your own… Lawyers are paid barracudas… but in this case they are YOUR paid barracudas… use them..
