Can I be fired for dicussing Issues with my boss`s BOSS?

I work in maryland, my current boss is sleeping with another employee and treating me very unfairly. I went to his boss to express my issues with every thing and now im being fired. What can i do? I`m only a contractor, do i have any legal rights. He gave me two days to get another job? Can i sue my boss? I also have documentation of illegal activites that were going on. Should i go to the news?
He does have a wife. Are there any laywers in maryland that specifically deal with cases like this? If so who could i go to?

You can be fired yes. Is there any recourse? Yes, but it will probably cost more to sue than you would gain.
