Builder risk covers claims and legal fees against damage to the building while construction is going on. Liability insurance covers demolition claims against damage caused by the demolition carried out during construction.
Professional Liability covers claims and legal fees from malpractice. This is different from the deliberate mistakes and negligence. Professional negligence involves a failure occurred the quality of work the contractor has represented himself to be qualified.
Liability, as mentioned above, covers claims and fees in case of injury or damage caused by the contractor's work to a third party or members of the public.
Employer liability covers claims and legal fees against injury or disease sustained by employees of the contractor in the course of their work. This extends to the accidental death of workers in the construction site.
The typical cost of the contractor's insurance lines between 0.5% and 1% of total coverage. Among the factors involved are industry the contractor, the business turnover of the specific company, the amount of coverage required, the likelihood of the company against any legal action, and, of course, the insurance company.
