Contractors Notice Services
Can my landlord change my existing electrical service to a shared electric service without prior notice?
I've lived in my house for 11. The city has called my landlord to physically reconfigure the input power lines to comply with the code. A contractor began this work on days the property was taken over by a friend or colleague from my now ex-owner. I have received a bill from the city and the city paid for my expenses own power more than eleven years. I was told today by the new building manager that my meter is now to be shared with another tenant in a different building on the property. This has occurred in the middle months and there was no notice. Can my landlord change my existing electrical service to a shared electric service without notice previa? Do I have legal recourse?
Assuming you are on a month-to month, you probably should be given a notice of 30 days, but let's be reasonable and practical. The fight against this would be more expensive than any injury incurred.
