Government Contractor Resources

Which is a better business major with more options/money- management or human resource management?
I live close to Huntsville ,Al. It is full of defense contractors, the Redstone Arsenal, etc. I am interested in having a government job. Would I be better served with a major in human resource management or general management? Of course, I know H.R will often involve staffing, training, etc. But I definitely dont want a job in retail or anything like that. Which major is more versatile and will bring me better options? Which major will generate more income in the long run? My husband is wanting to take management of technology ,but not sure its for me. Isnt that dealing with a lot of technical computer stuff?? Just looking for thoughts. I know I am interested in a Business degree(but not Finance or Accounting) Give me your thoughts.
Thanks
It is ashame that Finance and accounting is not an option for you. These two majors are the bread and butter of business and will provide you with a wider range of job opportunities. Depending on how smart you are, you may want to consider a business degree with an emphasis on economic. It is my opinion that this sort of degree is the most versatile and will not only open up many opportunities for you but will also allow you to advance in your career. However, economics is very difficult and EXTREMELY math intensive. If it is the math that is pushing away from finance and accounting then econ is not for you.
