Leed Contractors

Husband wants to work in the “Green Construction” field?

My husband has a bachelors degree, and is working full time at the moment in a job in a different field.

He would really like to get LEED certified, and attain a job in the contracting/construction field but he has no prior experience there.

He is prepared to get his general contractor’s license, and get LEED certified. Anyone that is working in this field, do you have any suggestions for him, to break into the field?

go to work for a construction or engineering firm that specializes in commercial and institutional work, and eventually an opportunity will come. “Green” seldom happens (especially with the extra cost of LEED) in the industrial world. Mostly it happens when the taxpayer is picking up the cost (green is seldom truly sustainable – sustainable has to be cost effective).
