Decorators training are being invited to participate in the annual contest apprentice upholsterer, organized by the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA).

Taking place at the site Basford Hall College in Nottingham on Saturday, September 5th, the contest will test the ability of learners to match precision and paper cutouts, obtain border levels properly in place and apply the paper without problems and no blisters.

Accommodation and dinner are provided by the PDA for all candidates on the night before the contest takes place.

Now in its thirteenth year, the competition attracts students studying for a NVQ in painting and decorating.

Three finalists will be selected as apprentices and then go to attend the PDA Annual Conference in Harrogate in October for a prize the official ceremony.

The winner of the competition â € "to be revealed at the conference – will win a £ 300 cash, second prize is £ 200 and third prize is 100 pounds. All winners will also receive a toolkit.

Paul Marsden, executive director of the PDA, said: â € œWe had an exceptional number of entries last year and the quality of the work was superb.â €

The Painting and Decorating Association was Established in July 2002 following the merger of the British Decorators € ™ and the Association of Painting and Decorating Federation. The British Decorators € ™ Association was originally founded in 1894.
