Outside Contractors

what causes the circuit breaker to keep tripping on my outside ac unit after a storm?

We had a thunderstorm where the power went out for two seconds and came back on, when this happened, we realized the circuit breaker had tripped, we reset it, then it tripped again, tried this one more time and stopped. The inside works, but the outside unit will not. Wondering if maybe we can just replace the circuit breaker or do we need to have a contractor come out?

It sounds like the storm may have damaged something in the outside unit. The circuit breaker is doing it’s job. I believe there is only a very very remote chance the circuit breaker itself is bad.

I would call for service.

Remember if it was a lightning strike your insurance company may pay for any damage.
