Personal Contractor

I-I am an employee or independent contractor?
I work for a friend who has a printing company promotional item that gives me tasks to do and I do its almost 9-5 Monday to Friday and sometimes I bring things home to finish them. He has control over what is done and how it's done and I paid for the company of a personal check which means no deductions are taken out and I know I have to withhold taxes as I have been doing, but I will be classified as employed own or an independent contractor?
You are an independent contractor. The only way that could be classified as self-employed, was whether it was the sole owner of the business. But since that gives the work and timetable, and pays on a regular basis, then be considered a contract position.
