Questions Ask Hiring Contractor

Question about a general contractor and concerns.?
AA general contractor hired to add a room to my house. We signed a contract to plans and permits. Now let me say that cost more than they had anticipated and are wondering about the difference (2.000,00). I think there should be known amount of permit fees are for this project. Am I wrong? In addition, there were many changes made by the city (which added to the cost of the project an amount significantly more than $ 10,000), so I wonder if they really understand the scope of work to do. I am worried because we are preparing to sign the contract actual work. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
You have reason to worry … First of all, once the general contractor has the price they are bound by it only for unforeseen conditions (which is not one of premitting) This is the GC supply problem if not properly … In terms of changes Additional ask to see these changes in writing or atleast go to the Construction Department of himself to see if these changes have already happened … is very unlikely that the GC not knew about these changes, because the building department to publish any upcoming changes before the date that becomes effective .. Please make sure that you get a copy of the GC and secure as possible, adding (in the property owner) and household insurance … This is a common and almost necessary procedure we do on every job. Please check out my contact information if you already have the question because you need to protect your property no matter what this Council Management is saying that … Good luck
