I would like to donate a panther statue to my school.Where should i start?

Of course i am not going to pay for it all by myself.I am Junior. I would like to have fundraisers or some other way to get money.
Theres the sculpture part, maybe even a contractor, Permits.Know that I think about it its going to be Very hard.
I just need a point of a finger of where i should start.I can problaly ask local businesses to donate and advertise their shop or eatery business,but only as a last resort.
i havent tought of making the sculpture my self. i would like to hire a local sculture.

Come up with a proposal for funding. Create a maquette (a small 3d version) of what you want to create in something like Plastilina non-drying clay. Take some images of it and come up with a document stating your intentions, and maybe that will help. You might then go to some of your teachers or some of the school staff and see what think and to get their support and possible ideas, particularly some of the art teachers. You could maybe go from there, and get posters made.

You might also get some good advice from the online artists’ community, wetcanvas. There is a sculpture channel, with many thread and articles from members, and over 114,000 worldwide members. Basic membership is completely free, but you can also browse many areas as a guest. This is one of the best sites I know, and I almost alway mention it in my yahoo art answers. It might really help you with some sculpting ideas.

Also, a great site for a lot of supplies and information is the Compleat Sculptor. You can get a lot of ideas about materials to possibly use to create this piece.
