Space Contractors
To all my fellow contractors/carpenters out there in web space…?
Have you even installed an aquarium inside a wall? I am thinking about doing this in my upcoming remodeling of my house and just want to know if its worth it or if it is just a pain to frame and operate the aquarium….. Do you build a cabinet underneath to hold the supplies? Would use advise using Greenboard since it may have a tendency to get wet or condensate?
Suggestions???
Try installing it in a wall on the back side of a closet. That way, you can service the tank from inside the closet and have the unit completely flush against the viewing wall (appearing like a flat screen TV or a window)
Greenboard wouldn’t hurt but I’ve seen it done without it – it depends on your climate. If you expect condensation, then I would just for peace of mind.
The inset tanks I have seen have finish work on the viewing side that creates a viewing area of just the water…not the airspace at the top of the tank.
