Us Contractor Jobs In Germany
Working Off Site in Germany for an American Company?
My husband works in Germany as a Military Contractor under Sofa Aggreement and Docphor (spelling?) and has been there since July of 2008. I am sponsored under his Sofa Agreement. I have visited him several times, but have been unable to get a job. So I come for a short time and return to the states to work. My employer has offered to let me work off-site to allow me to stay in Germany. I am hoping that someone can give me insight of the tax consequences if I were to do this. Would I be responsible for German taxes, US taxes, or both? I have health insurance coverage through the company he works for. Would this require a special permit with the German government, and if so, what Germany authority would I be required to contact? Hoping someone out there can give me some valid input.
Thank you in advance.
